Strut Your Mutt

All monies raised during this event go to the Homer Animal Friends spay/neuter program.

This year's event,  was held on June 30, 2012 and was a great success with the weather cooperating throughout the event. We had almost forty individuals and families register for the walk - many with more than one dog, including a number from the Homer Animal Shelter with their "adopt-me" vests. We also had participants from Minnesota and Colorado. Thank you for joining us!! Our oldest participant - 87 year old Ila Jean Anglin of Homer completed the entire walk and challenged other seniors to participate next year and challenged us to create a new prize for the oldest participant.

There were booths manned by Homer Dog Trainers and Homer Hounds where lots of good information for dog owners was dispersed. Homer Dog Trainers even had a "Hot Dog Dunk" which was much appreciated by the dogs!!!!  Owners who had their dogs participated in the Hot Dog Dunk were eligible to win prizes.  Also throughout the event there were random drawings for toe nail clipping done by Lisa Ann Grooming and dog tags provided by Homer Hounds.
